Week 1 on board the Sea Princess

The Sea Princess has two thousand passengers which is a lot smaller than many of the cruise ships today.

We left Sydney for Brisbane and then headed up the east coast and around the most northerly part of Australia.  It has become much warmer as we have headed north and rounded the southern tip of Timor.

We enjoy walking the upper decks each morning at about 6am and are using the stairs whenever we go to meals bible Study and other activities in order to increase our energy and fitness levels ready to explore Komodo Island on Thursday 14th June.

We've enjoyed ping-pong, swimming, shuttle board on deck and Ken has been in a daily golf tournament. The shows have been excellent at night and we have read 2 books from the ship's library. The Bible Studies have been well attended with great discussions and good fellowship and friendships are being enjoyed by all.

The views of the northern part of Australia from the ship are fascinating. There are so many narrow channels through the Great barrier Reef waters and numerous small islands are seen every day. The sunrise and sunsets are amazingly spectacular and we enjoy seeing Venus every night. The seas have been calm all the at up the coast and we have only seen a small number of other sea traffic throughout the whole week.
